Church membership starts when someone places their faith and trust in Jesus as Lord. He baptizes you with the Holy Spirit the moment you believe and call out on Him. This is recognized by us, your local church, when you publicly declare what Christ has done in your heart by following in believers' baptism.
We would love to share the good news with you! The good news is that salvation is available to you today in Jesus Christ. If you will admit your need for Jesus and call out to Him in faith you will be saved. This salvation is based on the finished work of Jesus Christ that he accomplished on the cross. We want to help you with this decision and the first steps in following Jesus as your Lord.
You might be wondering...how did it all begin? What went wrong? Is there any hope? Well we have some answers for you.
In the beginning, God created everything to be perfect (Genesis 1:1). There was no sickness, disease, or sadness. Everything lived in harmony (Psalm 90:2).
Man rebelled against a loving God and believed Satan's lie. Sin entered into the world and into every human heart. Everything is now distorted and broken. Everyone is guilty before God (Romans 3:10, 3:23).
Jesus, who is God, came to rescue people by His life, death, and resurrection. By faith alone in Him, anyone can have their sins forgiven and enjoy eternal life with Him (1 Peter 3:18, John 3:16).
Everything will be restored to the way that it was supposed to be and those who trust in Jesus will get to enjoy eternity in the new heaven and the new earth (Revelation 21:4).
Jesus, God in person, died for us on the cross so that we may have eternal life with Him. If you would like to place your faith in Jesus today, or have placed your faith in Him, contact us here, we would love to speak with you about it.
After placing our faith in Jesus, we are called to show everyone else this change within us by baptism, as a symbol of salvation. Just as a wedding ring symbolizes marriage, baptism symbolizes the forgiveness and cleansing of sins. Biblical baptism is by immersion and occurs after you have called out on Jesus (Matthew 3:13-16, Acts 8:36-39).
If you are interested in baptism or have questions about being baptized, contact us here.
Why should I be baptized?
- Jesus commands us to be baptized (Matthew 28:19)
- We need to publicly confess Jesus as our Lord (Matthew 10:32)
- We need to follow Jesus' example (Matthew 3:13-15)
- It joins us in the fellowship of the church (Acts 2:41)
