Missions
John Croasdale

In order to take Jesus to Seagoville and Beyond, we must evangelize sinners.  A missions ministry is not missions without evangelism, and Robinwood pursues many avenues in communicating the gospel to unbelievers.

Local Missions

Children and Youth Ministries

Seagoville is part of the Dallas Independent School District.  We minister to Seagoville High School and Middle School, which are fed by five elementary schools.  All of these schools combined have 5,390 students enrolled.  The Lord has targeted us to reach these students for Christ.  We have added staff positions to reach these students and children for Christ.  We view our Youth and Children ministries not as a baby sitting service for our adults, but as a missional outreach of Robinwood.

Bus Ministry

One third of our community lives below the poverty line.  For many in our mission field, transportation proves to be difficult.  We have a bus ministry that provides transportation primarily for studenst and children to attend our evangelistic Wednesday night services.  Sadly, many of their parents want very little to do with church or Jesus, and this provides their only hope for hearing the good news.  We have had many come to Christ through our bus ministry who would not have been saved otherwise.

Food Pantry

Since so large a portion of our community lives under the poverty line, practical needs abound.  One way that we serve our community is through our Food Pantry.  Details can be found here.  Through our food pantry, we are able to identify prospects that we are able to visit in order to share the gospel and assimilate into our church.

GROW

On Sunday afternoons from 4:30-5:45, our Sunday School departments take turns making minsitry contacts.  These include phone calls, letter, and home visits.  These contacts may be for church members or Sunday School members, but are primarily prospects.  Through GROW we train our people in personal evangelism, and seek to win prospects to Christ.

Hispanic Ministry - Robinwood en Espanol

Our community has increased by 32% since 2000, and has seen a dramatic change in ethnic demographics.  In 2000, the Anglo population made up 65%, which Hispanics made up 22%.  Now, Hispanics are 51% and by 2017 are projected to be 58%.  This means that in order to reach Seagoville, we will need to communicate the gospel in Spanish. Robinwood en Espanol allows us to reach the Spanish speaking members of our community, giving even more people an opportunity to hear the gospel.

Future Local Missions

Many families in our community live in trailer parks or apartment complexes.  We are looking for ways to penetrate these clusters of homes with the gospel.  One of these ways will be through Adopting a Neighborhood with Block Parties, Evangelistic Services, door-to-door canvasing, and localized Bible Studies.

Global Missions

We partner with the Dallas Baptist Association, the Southern Baptists of Texas Convention, and the Southern Baptist Convention to take Jesus to our city, our state, and our world respectively.  Besides supporting with prayer and finances, we are in the infant stages of planning for direct involvement in missions.  Our Youth Ministry has been on mission trips in the past, and went to Taos, NM during the Summer of 2015.  We are looking to engage in SendNA and Embrace in the coming months and years.
